This Privacy Policy explains how Katherine Guieb, trading as Kanto Filipino Flavours (“we”, “us”, “our”), handles personal information in connection with this website (kantofoodtruck.com.au or any other domain on which this site is published) and our food truck business in Western Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. We don’t use cookies on this site

This website does not set any cookies, does not use local storage for tracking, and does not include analytics, advertising pixels, social-media tracking widgets or any third-party scripts that profile you. Fonts and images are served directly from this website — nothing is loaded from a third-party CDN.

2. Information we collect through this website

We do not collect, store, transmit or process any personal information through this website. There is no contact form that submits to a server, no newsletter sign-up, and no account system.

The only feature that involves your details is the “Book an Event” button, which simply pre-fills a WhatsApp message on your own device. The data never touches our website — it goes from your device to WhatsApp (see section 3).

3. WhatsApp bookings and messages

When you tap Book an Event, Text Us, or use the pre-filled WhatsApp link, you are redirected to the WhatsApp app or web client on your device. WhatsApp is operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and, for users outside the EU, by Meta Platforms, Inc. Your message and any details you choose to send are transmitted through WhatsApp’s servers under WhatsApp’s own privacy terms.

Once we receive your WhatsApp message, we use the information you have given (your name, event date, group size, location and any further messages) solely to respond to your enquiry and, where applicable, to deliver the catering service you have requested. We keep WhatsApp chat history on the business phone for as long as is reasonably necessary to service the booking and meet record-keeping obligations under Australian law (typically up to 7 years for tax records under the Income Tax Assessment Act).

4. Social media links

The Instagram and Facebook buttons are simple outbound links. We do not embed any tracking pixels or social-media widgets on this site. When you visit those platforms, you are subject to the privacy policies of Meta Platforms:

5. Hosting and server logs

This website is served as static files. Like virtually any web server, our hosting provider may keep short-term server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, page requested, timestamp) for the technical purpose of operating the service and protecting it from abuse. These logs are not combined with any other data and are not used to identify or profile visitors.

6. QR code on the truck

The QR code displayed on our food truck is generated through HoverCode (hovercode.com), which acts as a short-link redirect to this website. When you scan the QR code, your scan briefly passes through HoverCode’s redirect service before you land here.

We have not enabled any of HoverCode’s scan-tracking, profiling, geolocation or analytics features. We do not collect, view or receive any data about who scanned the code, when, where, or with what device. The QR code is used purely as a convenience to take you straight to this website — nothing more.

HoverCode is operated by a third-party provider and processes the redirect under its own terms; for completeness, you can review HoverCode’s policies at hovercode.com.

7. Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may share information only:

• with service providers strictly necessary to deliver the booking (e.g. WhatsApp as the messaging channel you chose);
• where required by Australian law, regulation, court order or legitimate request from a public authority.

8. Overseas disclosure

WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are operated by Meta and may process data outside Australia, including in Ireland and the United States. By choosing to contact us through those channels you accept that your message is processed under those providers’ terms.

9. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

• request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
• ask us to delete WhatsApp chat history we hold about you (subject to record-keeping obligations);
• make a complaint about how we have handled your information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and at no charge.

10. Children

This website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

11. Security

Because we don’t collect personal information through the website itself, the main security boundary is your WhatsApp account. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted in transit. We protect the business phone with a passcode and standard device security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
